WoW Classic Lockpicking Leveling Guide
In WoW Classic, Lockpicking is a skill exclusive to Rogues. It enables them to pick locks on chests and doors. To improve your Lockpicking skill, you must level it up. This WoW Classic Lockpicking Guide provides a step-by-step approach to levelling Lockpicking from 1 to 300. During the upgrading process, you may need substantial assistance from gold coins, and in cases where your gold reserves are insufficient, opting to purchase WoW gold through Gameusd can be a good choice.
Leveling Lockpicking in Capitals in WoW Classic
In WoW Classic, as a Rogue, you can offer lockpicking services in a capital city by creating a macro to post regularly in the chat. If your Lockpicking skill is high, you may even charge gold or receive tips. This is especially useful when waiting for an Onyxia head to be redeemed for the buff or during other downtimes.
Although not a fast method for levelling up Lockpicking, occasionally you may come across chests that grant a skill point. This is particularly true at the beginning of a new season when many players are levelling up their characters simultaneously.
Leveling Lockpicking from 1-90 in WoW Classic
To improve your Lockpicking skill as a Rogue in WoW Classic from level 1 to 90, the Redridge Mountains are ideal for Alliance players and The Barrens for Horde players.
Alliance Lockpicking in Redridge Mountains
As an Alliance player, head to the location marked on the map in Redridge Mountains. Once the Practice Lockboxes become inactive, you can find more at Lake Everstill, starting from skill level 70:
Horde Lockpicking in The Barrens
As a Horde Horde player, go to the ship in The Barrens where the Rogue Rogue quest takes place:
Lockpicking skill can be levelled beyond 90 in these locations. It is recommended to continue practising on the Lockboxes until they turn grey.
Leveling Lockpicking From 90 – 150 in WoW Classic
To increase your Lockpicking skill from 90 to 150 in WoW Classic, you can choose one of the following locations:
- In the goblin camp at Windshear Crag, located in Stonetalon Mountains, there are several Practice Lockboxes. It is important to note that some of these lockboxes require a skill level of 70, while others start at 110.
- In Durnholde Keep, Practice Lockboxes can be found in Hillsbrad Foothills.
- In Wetlands, Practice Lockboxes can be found a little north of Menethil near the Murlocs.
- Practice Lockboxes can be found at Zoram Strand in the west of Ashenvale.
These locations can be used to increase your lockpicking skill to 150. It is necessary to fight enemies in each location, and the Practice Lockboxes are relatively rare.
Leveling From 150 – 200 in WoW Classic
To improve your lockpicking skill, the best location to start at level 150 is Desolace. On the west coast of Desolace, you will find 'Waterlogged Footlockers'. These turn yellow at 175 and green at 200. It is helpful to have underwater breathing or be an Undead while lockpicking these chests. You can obtain underwater breathing from a Warlock or by using an Elixir of Water Breathing.
Without the ability to breathe underwater, it is recommended to switch to Badlands once you reach a skill level of 175. Head to Angor Fortress, located south of Uldaman, where you can start opening the chests in the lower section of the fortress. **
Leveling Lockpicking from 200 – 250 in WoW Classic
Lockpicking can be levelled up to 250 in WoW Classic by finding lockboxes in the underground section of Searing Gorge. This area is also where the Thorium Brotherhood quests lead. Refer to the screenshot below for the location on the map:
Leveling Lockpicking From 250 – 300 in WoW Classic
To increase your Lockpicking skill from 250 to 300 in WoW Classic, you can practice by opening doors in Blackrock Depths. Simply enter the instance and unlock the following three doors, as well as an optional lock:
- After entering the instance, open the door on your left.
- Then, proceed through the door and turn right. Open the door in front of you.
- Next, go through the door again and open the first door on the left.
- In the room after the third door, you can also unlock it if you are level 60. Below level 60, it is necessary to test whether the system works without unintentionally attracting enemies.
To reset the instance, simply leave and re-enter it. Keep in mind that you can only reset an instance up to 5 times per hour. If necessary, take a break or extend your run for gold farming.
